Member consultation on Stamford 3000 ideas
Following responses by the public to the Stamford 3000 concept document, distributed to all homes in July/August 2006, the Chamber has also surveyed the views of our membership.
Members were asked, via a questionnaire, to indicate their level of interest in a number of ideas and themes previously identified in the response from the public. The results are shown below, together with the earlier feedback from the public.
The main topics of interest communicated by the public were:
- Creating permanent gardens by St. Michael’s, Stamford Walk and in Broad Street outside Brownlows
- Developing the town waterfront
- A ring road/relief road
- Opening up the space between the Library and the Museum
The main topics of interest to the business community were:
- A ring road/relief road
- A car park under the Recreation Ground
- Opening up the back of the Arts Centre
- Re-surfacing the High Street
- Developing the town waterfront
The Chamber will represent these views in discussions with other representative and statutory bodies, including the Town Council, Stamford Vision, SKDC and at Lincoln County level.
